One monster banana tree bulb in a medium flat rate box. The bigger the bulb, the bigger the banana tree for the season.
Banana trees are technically not a tree at all. The tree is reall a stalk, and after that stalk bears fruit, that stalk dies. New shoots will be appearing at the bottom, which are referred to as pups. Banana trees need a long growing season, in order for the fruit to ripen. Here in Orlando, the trees bear fruit, but sometimes don't have enough time for the fruit to ripen. For fun, when the tree gets a decent size, take a giant paper clip, bend one end so you can stick it into the leaf shaft, and take the other end and attach a couple of yellow bananas. You will be bound to get a chuckle or two.
If you don't have a spot to store the bulb for the winter season?, just store the bulb in dry dirt, and store in a cool dry place. Here in Orlando, the trees get burnt from the cold every year, they just send up new shoots in the spring.
